We’ve had a lot of glimpses of the old Ramona.

The way she stretches out her arms when she sleeps. The way she only likes looking to the right. The grumpy way her brow furrows when you change her diaper. We’ve even had a few little smiles since the tube came out. But this morning she really seemed to be back to her sweet self. She’s always played it a little close to the vest, understandably so, but she seems to be coming out of her shell a bit. The methadone is weaning off and she’s more “with it”. It’s wonderful to put fears of severe brain damage to rest for now and just to see her eyes sparkling. A picture paints a thousand words.
