It’s been brought to my attention several times these past days that if Ramona wasn’t supposed to be here, she wouldn’t. I know. Not sure where all those icky thoughts come from, but they seem to be a reality of this situation.

I realized today that although I’ve never said it out loud before, I think that Ramona’s condition is probably my fault.

Miss Mona turned six months today. To celebrate we went out as a foursome for a drive. You know that’s gotta be a special occasion since gas is like $3.50 a gallon in these parts. We checked out some “garage-mahals” going up in the neighborhood. This is my new favorite word that describes a huge new-construction house whose most prominent architectural feature is a three or four car garage. A close second in the new word category is “destinesia”, that’s when you forget why you came into a room once you get there. Happens to me all the time.

Jane and Andy are super-grateful for all the help you have been giving them in the grocery and meals department. So, let’s keep it coming! I often think of life as a rocky river bed to be crossed. The journey from one bank to the other is not a straight line and the complexities of the path can’t be taken in all at once. You simply have to look at the rocks around your feet and decide which one is your next best choice. There is no wrong way across if you decide this way. You may not be able to choose where you will come ashore, you may have to backtrack, you may get tired, but that’s life. The question that has been plaguing me is, “How do you decide which rock is next?”

It’s probably a bad idea to post when you’re angry. This is one of those posts that should never be mailed.

There was a stretch of a few years when Mother’s Day was complete torture for me.
