The internet at the hospital is not playing nice today. So sorry for the delayed update. Here is the latest scoop:

Post operatively they have learned that the surgeon was able to dilate Ramona’s Right Pulmonary Artery from 4mm to 5mm. It may stay dilated, it may not. The LPA is 4mm at its widest point. Ramona’s Sats have been in the high 80’s to low 90’s which is so great.

For those keeping score on the details they have weaned her off the dobutamine and have reduced her morphine, versed, dopamine and milrinone. They have started lasik and her ventilator is at 30%. They turned the paralytic off today. Ramona did open her eyes for a bit while Jane was there this afternoon before drifting back to dreamland. Her heart rate is elevated which they are doing their best to get under control.

The Plan is to keep weaning her narcotic drip until she can breathe on her own so they can remove the vent. That could happen as soon as tomorrow.

Her chest tube output has been small which is great and she has been making pee pee. They hope to remove the catheter tomorrow. They will not be giving her any IV nutrition this time; instead Ramona will go directly to NG tube feeds.

Jane and Andy are doing well, they are tired and stressed but they are pleased with her sats being in the high 80’s to low 90’s. With these Sats, they might be able to take Ramona home without oxygen so please pray! That would be a huge help to all of them.

Please join me in Praying that Jane, Andy, Simon & Ramona all get much needed restorative rest, have great quality time together and that Ramona heals quickly and comes home without the Oxygen.
Thanks
Jen
