The doctors have hinted to us this time around that Ramona will likely require 5-7 open heart surgeries in her lifetime. So, for the first few years of her life, she may have open heart suregry as often as you or I go to the dentist.

We’ve got to find a way to make this somewhat routine or we’ll lose our minds. It helps to sleep at home. It helps to talk to friends about their problems. It’s helps to meditate on the spiritual reality that Ramona is God’s, not ours. I don’t know why, but this time it’s much easier. It’s really, really hard still, but this feels like a cake walk compared to last time.

But geez are we getting tired. We’re trading off shifts at the hospital, trying to get our daily Simon fix and hopefully get some sleep too. Andy’s trying to get some work done. It’s pretty numbing.

Ramona is recovering so well so far. Please pray that this continues and that the other shoe never drops. Thank you for all of your well wishes and prayers. More on Ramona’s progress to follow…

Nighty-night, Jane.
