I’ve gotten bunches of requests for pictures of Ramona. I’ve been hesitant because Ramona has been looking like something out of Naked Lunch for a few days. She’s a narcotics junky. But this morning she seemed pretty with it, so here you go…

We moved up to the floor last night. The floor makes the PICU look like the Four Seasons. When I arrived upstairs and got her room number, they directed me to the very end of the hall, where Ramona was alone in her room, crying. I was upset too. I tried to keep my cool but ended up bursting into tears when the nurse came in, whereupon they moved Ramona to a room directly across from the nurse’s station. I guess the squeaky wheel really does get the grease.

She is still having some diarrhea but she has not vomitted since last night. Her sats seem slightly lower this morning but I’m trying not to stress about it. It’s not working, but I’m trying. We’re hoping Ramona will be able to come home soon. She will not have the one-on-one attention from the nurses here that she had in the PICU, so it is much harder to leave her, even for a few hours.

Please pray that her stay on the floor will be short. Please pray that her sats stay high. And pray for Andy and I. We’re getting tired and cranky, and are looking forward to the end of this hospital stay.

Thank you, Jane.
