Dear Jane and Andy,
I am Becky Dorsett, the mother of Beth Bowers..longtime Onderdonk friend. My heart goes out to all four of you with love and prayers. I can only offer the assurance that I know an “alumnae” of Children’s Memorial’s cardiac department who is leading an active life 26 years later!!!
Trust Romona, so beautiful! , will also be a fabulous alumnae decades from now!

FYI, I’m chewing gum here not because I take a cavalier attitude towards childbirth but because the epidural made my mouth taste like the bottom of a boat. Also, for the record, pitting edema is not a good look for anyone, it’s not just me ;)
Thanks for your prayers, Ramona had a good day today. Methadone and Viagra, who wouldn’t? I’ll update on her condition tomorrow morning. She is going through some serious narcotic withdrawal and is very unhappy at the moment, but they tell us this is normal.

We’re praying! I’m a little obsessive about checking the site for Ramona updates! You’re constantly in my thoughts. It’s really special to have this space dedicated to Ramona and your family. The new pictures and stories are wonderful. I especially appreciate, though, knowing how to specifically pray for Ramona, you and Simon. We’re thankful for each positive step! Love to you all!

Hello Andy and Jane—-you do not know me but I know Wayne and lovely Sue very well. I have sold them quilts over the years and we have managed to stay in contact.
Just want you to know that someone in Iowa is also praying for your wee one.Being a preacher’s wife, I believe in prayer and its constancy—I will have a prayer for Ramona’s health and a prayer for the strength of your family through this time and do it in a constant day to day prayer. I know friends, in time of need, are a love that God gives us—and I am your friend from away—someone who loves anyone connected with Wayne and Sue. God bless you and Ramona. Marilyn Woodin
