Audiology

Just a quick note to say that Ramona had a hearing test today. Although they were unable to get her to cooperate for the whole test, what they did complete was normal.
The only hinky thing they found was some excessive wax in her ears, which I will take her to the pediatrician to remove next week.
We have a busy weekend planned, with lots of visiting and pre-birthday activities for Simon. Here’s a pick of the boo-boo’s at my new favorite winter destination, the Garfield Park Plant Conservatory. Of course it would break all known laws of physics if they were both looking at the camera at the same time, so here’s a shot of them both looking away. The weather here is finally starting to break and we just can’t wait to get out there…
Glad that it was normal, so far. We had a hearing test at one of Wren’s follow-up visits and it was totally traumatic. He wouldn’t nap (they wanted it done sleeping) and I walked around the roof of the hospital for ages hoping to get him to nap and almost missed the audiologist.
At the time I was thinking “so what if he is deaf!!!”
Still, I was glad it was a normal result. We only got through 3/4 but they said it would do.
Jane,
Glad you had a good visit in audiology! I know what you mean about “can’t wait to get out there.” I can’t remember a time when I craved spring so much, or stopped to soak in every bit of sunshine I could. This has been the worst winter ever! The other day it was 59 but pouring–I didn’t care–I took Phare for a walk anyway! I’m very envious of your Chicago offerings, things like a plant conservatory? You mine as well be speaking a foreign language here in VT.
The boo-boos are so adorable! I can’t believe how big they are getting. I love Ramona’s hair and Simon still has a menacing look, even from the side! Can’t wait to give them lots of hugs and kisses.
Love to all of you!

They are pretty in blue! I like Mr. Funny’s shirt with the drums, and Ramona, well she is just precious. I remember her snuggling into my neck and gently patting me on the back of my shoulder like she was telling me, “Everything is okay Papa”.
Hello daughter,
And I might add, the weekend also includes the birthday of a glorious, valorous, gentle woman who keeps a vigil of love and patience and endless artfulness in her home. Jane, how can I express fully my gratitude to God for the gift of you in my life? Happy Birthday!
Thankful for His Blessings Mom
when i first saw the picture before i read the post, i thought WOW! It’s already spring in the Deitrich’s garden! I am glad that the audiology test went well for ramona and glad that the sun has decided to visit the midwest alas ~ cheers!
