The surgeon’s nurse just called from the hospital. An emergency patient has been added to the schedule tomorrow. They asked us if we would be willing to be “on call”. Meaning if the emergency case takes a ton of time they will cancel. If not, they will do Ramona’s procedure, but probably later in the day.

Although this is not ideal, I’m trying to just roll with it. We’re used to being that other family, the one with the very, very sick kid who needs intervention right away. I’m glad to be on the other side of the changing schedules even if it is a bit inconvenient. Plus, we only live 30 minutes from the hospital so aside from Ramona getting really mad that we won’t feed her, I think it should be okay.

They should give us a call by 9:00am to let us know what the plan is. We’re really hoping they can fit her in. We’re all set with childcare and have our game face on. But we’re flexible, trying to believe in God’s perfect timing.

And besides, now I get to post another picture! Here’s Simon at the park (also a phone shot).
