New Chapter

Today Andy’s brother Toby and his wife Bekah go home to Vermont to await the birth of their daughter in May. Thanks guys so much for all of your help, we love you. So starts a new chapter for us. It will now be just the four of us although we will still have a ton of help and are working out a semi-permanent child care plan.
I’ve got Buh-mona in the Bjorn carrier right now, she’s zonked out. She sleeps like 17 hours a day. You wouldn’t think it’d be so hard for the grown-ups to get sleep too, but it is. So our big challenge is going to be sleep until we can find some help at night.
But I think we’ve got days covered for the most part now. Simon will have a play date once a week and my mom and sister are going to come to the house once a week to help out too. This will allow Andy to go into the office. So, provided we can find a way to get enough sleep, things still seem pretty rough but not flat-out impossible, which is a relief.
You can see from today’s picture that Simon is an enthusiastic eater. His current favorite is watermelon. I’ve had to ask myself many times the past few days, “How much watermelon can you feed a baby before they throw up?”. He just can’t get enough. I just can’t get enough of his sweet face.
Jane.
oooooh. i don’t blame you – that IS a sweet face. is that avocado i see on his bib? YUMmy. as to the rest, it sure sounds like you have a plan. . . hoping sleep will soon follow. . . sep
I once knew a grown man who could eat an entire watermelon all by himself. He swore he’d always been able to do this. “Watermelon is good for hydration!” He’d exclaim.
love and sleep to the whole fam
And its “one of the world’s healthiest foods”! [quote]

We had a parent in our preschool class who was always bringing in watermelon and telling us that.
Dear Ones – Have you ever heard of anyone having an altar in the kitchen? Well, I do, because every time I open my iBook to check e-mail or the RAMONA BALBOA web-site, I say my prayers, right there, next to the toaster!
I thank God for all that He is doing & providing for you.
I am proud of you!
Hi Jane,
I would love to help you with some over nights! I am still pretty sick and under the weather, but I’ll give you a call this weekend to work out the kinks!
Love you all,
Rachel
If you have a trusted family member or friend who is willing you should allow them to take the night shift once in a while. You could even draw up the meds, prepare the feeds and just leave the instructions out for them. When Drew first came home he needed meds during the night and we had to change the formula in the bag (he had a continuous feed overnight). My aunt would come over once a week and let us have one night of sleep. It made a big difference in our moods the next day!
I love the pictures! Both your kids are adorable!
