One tangible way we can show support for Andy & Jane is to feed them well. Here is a schedule for people who’d like to drop off a meal for our friends. To sign up, post a comment and we’ll update the body of this page. Thanks for providing for them in this way!

*Special instructions:* Jane and Andy could use meals for 2 adults. Food for Simon is taken care of through grocery runs. Feel free to call before you stop by to deliver food if you want to make sure someone is home. There is a good chance someone will be around during the day, and almost certainly someone will be home every evening after 5:30 to be with Simon while he sleeps. Per doctors instructions, now that Ramona is home they have to keep visitors to the bare minimum. Meals are a great gift to them and another way you can serve them is to be aware of time. A quick drop off is a huge gift to this exhausted family as well!

If any out-of-towners want to get in on the food-providing fun, post a comment and we’ll set you up with some options.

Also, note that we will periodically be deleting comments just to make this page and the sign-ups easy to read.

If you want, post what you’ll be making so we can avoid bringing over six batches of chili. I’ll keep the page updated with the menu.

We thank you for all of your love and support!

I have had the great pleasure of knowing Andy through work at Hyperion. I am Andy’s manager in the Stamford, CT office and have met Jane and Simon on past trips to Skokie. I would love to help with meals but of course being so far away that makes home cooked meals diffucult! One way I think I can help out is to either provide gift certifcates to restaurants in that area that will deliver food to the house or call and have some deliveries made.

Can you provide me with some options of restaurants in the area and whether the Gift Certificate or home delivery would work better for them.

    Thank you!
    Suzanne Padilla

  2. Ann says:

Suzanne, this is a great idea. I’m sure restaurant deliveries would be appreciated. Let me think about this and I’ll contact you in a bit.

  3. Erin Loughlin says:

Just a couple of ideas for Suzanne: Gale STreet Inn is in their neighborhood. And a Whole Foods Market is opening up in a couple of days real nearby. I don’t know if either deliver, but are a couple of good resources for food.

  4. Juliet & Greg says:

Hi Ann, Hope you are well! Just wondering if the fam is craving anything special for Monday…we’ll take any special requests. And how about fruit, juice, groceries etc?

  5. Ann says:

    Hi Juliet & Greg,

I don’t know of any special cravings. They just had some yummy Italian food, so you could maybe do something different from that. We are starting a “grocery run”:http://ramonamae.com/help-needed-grocery-runs/ service for them, so I think they’ll be set on other household staples. Thanks for asking!

Val, I’ll definitely keep you in mind if someone needs to cancel for some reason. Thanks!

  6. RachelCraft says:

Hi, Is there any way of knowing the foods that they have gotten in the last week, so that they are not getting any repeat meals? Thanks, Rachel

  7. Ann says:

    Hi Rachel,

Great question! I’ll see if I can learn something and post info about that here. I know they had Italian on Friday night. I’ll keep you updated as I learn things!

  8. Rachel Craft says:

Thanks Ann! I’ll be bringing something of the Mexican variety on Sunday. 😉 Do they have any food allergies or dietary restrictions?

  9. Ann says:

No allergies or dietary restrictions, so you are safe to feed them whatever! :)

  10. Peggy Bergin says:

    Hi,

I’m scheduled to bring over dinner on Saturday, March 10 – I’m planning on some mexican food, and my mom is making some homemade irish bread to bring over too. The only snafu is that i just found out we’ll be going out of town this weekend, leaving friday. is it ok if I drop everything off on thursday night? it all can be frozen…

I was somehow led to your website by mistake. I don’t know the story … I don’t know why … but I would like to help. I am one of the “out of towners” you mentioned … is there some way/any ideas? I don’ t know what to do from so far away or where to send anything …
    any suggestions?

  62. Ann says:

    Hi Dixie,

We actually haven’t been doing meals for quite awhile — Jane and Andy seem to have it covered. Probably the best thing you can do is keep on praying for their family! Thanks for your offer of help. If we think of anything, we’ll let you know.

    their friend,
