Extubated

Ramona was extubated a few moments ago, cried her raspy two-pack-a-day cry and fell asleep. She’s now sucking on her paci and snoozing. It’s lovely to see her sweet face again, and to look into her eyes. She’s still pretty drugged up but is otherwise doing well. Her sats are in the low 90’s on 3 liters of nasal canula. We are hoping they are able to wean this off and still keep her above her baseline of 80.
I am taking a lunch break soon here and hope to find Ramona still resting when I come back. Her fever is still there and is unfortunately on the rise, about 103F. Still waiting for cultures…
Jane.
What a beautiful, round baby you have! I’m thankful that this surgery went more smoothly for all of you. I’m also hoping her fever is gone soon. My daughters and I check your blog frequently and my 3.5 yr-old especially likes the pics of your kids and asking if Ramona’s heart is healed yet. You certainly were given a big load when God gave you children, more than most parents ever expect to be given. Thanks for your honesty and openness on this treck.
Hey Jane,
This is such good news. That little sweetie looks a little feverish, but I’m so glad she’s off the paralytic and the respirator. I pray constantly for her to keep up her fight and have a deep respect for her tenacity. And for yours as well. Love to all of you. Let us know if you need me or Eva or both of us. I am scheduled for dinner tonight. Please call me to let me know what will work for you.
Love,
Carol

You don’t even know me, but I am from the December board. I just wanted to post that I am so happy that surgery went well yesterday and I wanted you to know that my family in Indiana is praying for your little girl.

Happy Father’s Day Andy,
Best wishes for continued recovery for Ramona and that the fever leaves her body today. I am praying that God continues to watch over your children and that he blesses you all with health and peace.
We love you Ramona and are praying for that fever to dissipate. Keep sleeping and healing that precious little body.
Love you Sweetheart.
Fever, fever go away! Even all hepped up she still looks like Ramona which I take to be a very good sign. She’s so strong and so lovely, like her mama. Blessings.
Hi everyone,
The last temperature reading was 100.8 – down a little bit.
Still thinking of you all. Glad to hear the extubation went well. Keep at it Ramona.
Take care,
Tricia

we are so happy to see that she is extubated now! way to go Ramona!!! yeah!!! I hope that the fever breaks soon!
What good news! I’m glad that she is extubated and the fever is going down a little. Happy Father’s Day Andy. I know its no fun to be in the hospital on such a special day. My husband spent his first two Father’s Days in the hospital with Drew. I’m hoping you can still celebrate what a wonderful father you are and what a blessing you have in your two children. Still praying for a smooth recovery and speedy return home.
awake and extubated! hanging in there like a champ! keep it up pretty girl! you too Ramona!
happy father’s day andy!! what a beautfiul family you have!
So thankful for a successful day. Can’t stop thinking about you and praying. I was with my sister yesterday and our prayer over our dinner turned into a long tearful prayer for sweet Ramona. Hope you all get some peaceful sleep tonight. Happy Father’s Day, Andy.
Andy
Happy belated Fathers Day. I am so proud to have you as a nephew. Jane, you are amazing and I admire you. I am praying for a full recovery for Ramona.
