Just spoke to the nurse. The fever continues, she says it is “more concerning”, but she did not seem overly alarmed. They plan to extubate her today after rounds if everything goes well this morning.

I’m hoping the fever subsides soon and that Ramona is able to be extubated this morning. I’m glad to hear that surgery is easier this time around. It does help to know what to expect, to have some familiar faces, to know where the bathroom, the computers, the stairways, and the pumping rooms are in the hospital. Even though you have gone through this before give yourself time to process it all. It’s still not something that most parents have to do, ever. It’s not easy, it’s tiring and stressful and you should take every offer of help that you get. I am praying for a smooth recovery from here on out, but remember that it is normal to have ups and downs during a hospitalization.
Holding you all in prayer,
Andrea
