To the ER – UPDATED

As some of you know we’ve been battling high fevers, runny noses, and grumpy babies for over a week now. Both Simon and Ramona were prescribed some antibiotics a couple days ago, and Simon has started his recovery. It looked like Ramona would, too, but today she was up to 104 again, lethargic, and throwing up. She’s also having breathing difficulty (retracting).
So the pediatrician advised we take her into the ER in case she is developing pneumonia. Jane left about 30 minutes ago.
Needless to say this is an unwelcome development. We’re already exhausted and not feeling too great ourselves, and Simon’s not too happy about being left behind with Dad. Oh, and one of our cars won’t start. Hopefully this will all clear up very soon and we’ll have some things back to “normal”.
UPDATE: Ramona’s blood work came back and she has RSV. This can be very dangerous for heart patients so I guess it’s good that she’s at the hospital where they can care for her. She will be admitted and receive supportive care at least over night. Thanks, everyone.
So sorry to hear about an ER visit. That is my least favorite place to be. It sounds like she needs to be checked though and she’ll be in good hands there. We are battling some high fevers over here too. So far we’ve avoided the hospital, but you never can tell with these kiddos. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we will await an update.
We’ve got you guys in our thoughts and prayers. xoxo
Dear Andy, Dear Jane,
We are praying for you & your dear ones!
Lots of love & hugs:)
Love you guys and thinking of & praying for you.
We are praying for all four of you.
We’re praying for all of you. When we told Michael we had to say a special prayer for Ramona he said ‘We love that little baby.” As always, anything you guys need we’re here for you. Day or night, don’t hesitate to call.
Super big ((((hugs))), prayers and positive thoughts for you all right now!!!
So sorry to hear about the hospitalization. I can’t recall whether Ramona has been getting the RSV vaccines. That is supposed to make it less severe even if you get it.
I hope she makes it home soon and feels a lot better tonight.
Praying for all of you…
We’re praying, too.
Saying prayers too…
Praying. Sick kids are so exhausting – I can’t imagine how much more taxing this must be on all of you. {{{HUGS}}}
We’re thinking of you and hoping that Ramona has a speedy recovery.
I will be keeping Ramona in my prayers. I know RSV is very dangerous. I’m glad she is in the hopital already and getting the care she needs.
Ramona is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she gets all better soon.
Praying for Ramona. And praying for you & Andy, Jane. Praying that God will continue to give you strength…and strength…and strength…
