Color Alert

Jane just called and asked me to post an update. Ramona’s color has been a bit more purple lately, and they are feeling concerned.
Over the past three or four days, Ramona has woken up from her naps and night sleep looking quite purple. While this looks alarming at first, her color returns to normal after a few minutes. Jane and Andy measured Ramona’s saturation levels at these times and they were quite low — in the 60s.
Besides that, Ramona has been acting a bit withdrawn in the past couple days. Her color seems a bit pale and gray today, and her oxygen saturations are consistently a little low (although not as low as when she wakes up). This could just be due to the fact that Ramona has been very active this week, bearing some weight on her legs and sitting up unsupported. It’s possible that having a heart with a hole in it just makes it hard to keep up with her vigorous lifestyle. Ramona’s excellent weight gain, alertness, and energy all point to healthy growth in her arteries.
Today, Jane called the cardiologist. They have decided that Ramona doesn’t need a trip to the emergency room right now, but that they will take her in to see the cardiologist as soona s she can get an appointment. Here are some particular prayer requests:
* that they would be able to see the cardiologist right away
* that the doctors would be able to figure out what is wrong
* that the doctors would be able to do something to help Ramona
* that if Ramona requires surgery at this point, the family would have a bit of time to prepare for that
Jane is doing okay, but they are worried and scared. She feels pretty tired, and the prospect of lots of doctor visits and hospital trips right now feels exhausting. Join with us in praying that the Lord will give Jane, Andy, Simon, and Ramona everything they need to flourish, especially over the next few days.
My prayers are with you during this nerve-wrecking time. I’ll say some extra prayers that Ramona will not only be ok but that Jane & Andy get some rest. And may God send you all the support you need if you’re about to endure another rough ride. Take Care of yourselves.

Praying!
Hi Jane,
Thinking of you and praying for you all. I want to encourage you to trust your instinct. I know we try to avoid the ER if at all possible, but if you are really scared, take her in.
Praying for peace for your family,
Andrea
Dear Aandy, Dear Jane,
This is tough duty, I know. I wish it were not so. I know you are doing all you can for your children & for one another.
I am praying for you & yours, just as you asked(above).
Lots of love, always!
Jane,
I hope you get an early cardiology appointment and they have some solution. I’m glad you have the sat monitor at home so you can give the doctors this kind of information quickly.
Good luck this week and although its overshadowed by the saturation changes, its great news that she is sitting up and ‘standing’ a bit too.

Hello nice people!
I talked with cardiology this morning. The nurse said “oh my gosh, bring her to the emergency room”. We get that a lot, so I explained a little more about Ramona’s condition and she agreed it would be okay to wait for an appt. This would probably be Thursday.
Her color seems pretty good today and her spirits are high. Thanks Ann for posting this update, when I know more, I’ll let you know
Jane.
We’re praying.
