Jane just called me and asked me to post the results of the CT scan. Here they are:

# Ramona will be having surgery, probably on Thursday or Friday of this week.
# The doctors do not yet know exactly what they are going to do. They are waiting for all the surgeons to weigh in before making a concrete plan. They will probably decide tomorrow.
# The cardiologist looked at the CT results and could not find any significant growth in Ramona’s arteries. Since there is very little change, they cannot attempt surgeries that would entirely repair her heart or even improve cardiac functioning at this time.
# The surgery this week will have two goals: 1) to repair the aneurism, and 2) to try something new to encourage her arteries grow. They are very confident that they’ll be able to repair the aneurism. There are a few options they’ll need to decide between to help her arteries grow.

Jane and Andy are pretty disappointed to hear this news about Ramona’s arteries. But they are grateful for the healthcare available for Ramona, and they are glad that they now have the knowledge and experience to be able to participate in the conversation with the surgeons to decide what next steps will be best for Ramona.

Keep on praying!
