Ramona is coming back from the CT suite soon.

have been following your site for awhile – your writing touches me. Ramona is beautiful. My daughter just went through her 3rd open heart surgery May 14th – so I can relate to the anxiety that you are feeling. I hope you find answers soon and if surgery is on the horizon that everything goes well.

Dear Ramona
Wow, I don’t check your site for a day and look at all that has happened! Well, I have been thinking about you lately even though I haven’t had time to post. It’s really hot down here now. It’s like “southern” hot. In Chicago when it gets to be the summer, at least in the city, it’s like you can smell the sidewalks baking. Does it smell like baking concrete up there now? It smells like baking concrete except when it rains. Then it all smells fresh and clean and new again.
Some people don’t like when it rains because it means they can’t go swimming or play tennis but I like it when it rains. It’s good for the growing things…the grass and the peonies and the baby animals in the neighborhood. I really like it when there are thunderstorms. Some people get scared in thunderstorms. Does thunder scare you when it rumbles?
I guess if I was in the middle of a field with no shelter I would be afraid of thunderstorms but when I’m safe in my house and it gets all dark and cloudy and I hear the thunder rumble, it’s kind of cool and interesting.
Remember, if you are ever in a thunderstorm and aren’t at home then go and look for shelter, OK? But if you are at home and there is a thunderstorm then sit in the window on that radiator cover in the livingroom with Simon or mom or dad and watch the rain fall and the lightning make the sky bright and feel the rumble of the thunder as it shakes the floor under your feet and know that you are safe.
